5 Wedding Day Photo Tips Every Couple Should Know
Choosing the right getting-ready space
When choosing the right getting ready space, you want to take into consideration how much room you have. Is there enough room for all of your bridal party and one or two photographers? Is the space picture pretty? Could you imagine getting your photos back and being happy with the space that you have picked out?
Of course there are many situation where you can’t exactly control where you are getting ready and have to make do with what is available, and that is perfectly fine. Just make sure your getting-ready space is as clean and as free of clutter as possible. If you can only fit three people in at a time then so be it.
Doing a first look or not
Having a first look can be very beneficial for brides on their wedding day. How? Well, for one thing you don’t have to wait all day before seeing your future husband. Also, first looks can be a very intimate time for the couple and can help get all of the nerves out. And my favorite reason to do a first look….. It allows you and your husband to get the reception a lot quicker. Now don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against you not wanting to do a first look. (heck I didn’t even do a first look at my own wedding) I do love the grooms reactions at the end of the isle while watching their beautiful bride walk towards them. It’s just something to think about when you are planning your timeline.
How to pose naturally
To some couples the posing style is very important. Do you want a more natural look, a posed look or a mix of both styles? I offer a mix of documentary style and posed pictures. I love a good candid and capturing the reactions that no one else catches. But I will also help you pose to where you look natural and relaxed. (You might hear a few of my bad jokes). Just remember that it’s your day and you can relax knowing that your photographer will make you and your partner look amazing when it comes to posing. Relax, think about all the memories your and your partner have already had and all of the ones you will continue to make.
When to plan portraits
Many brides are okay with doing their bridal portraits the day of the wedding. Just keep in mind that you’ll need to plan the timing into your wedding day timeline. Which might mean that you’ll have to get ready and be ready even earlier. If you want to relax the morning of your wedding with your bridesmaids or even sleep in a little I recommend scheduling your bridals for a separate day. Maybe even the day of your hair and makeup trial. Knock out two birds with one stone. Having your bridals done before your wedding day will also allow you time to have some printed out and put on show at your reception.
Trusting your photographer
Picking out a photographer is not easy, I get it. You want someone to capture your day so you can re live it everyday after. So you did your research when picking out your photographer. you asked all of the questions you had and made sure you and that photographer were a perfect match. I can assure you that every good photographer just wants what you want. Your photographer will go out of their way to help make your day run smoothly. Us photographers wear many hats and have many titles during a wedding day including dress and vail holder, water runner, tissue holder, train fixer, coordinator, bestie, phone and wallet carrier, and even announcer. We will keep the timeline going and handle what is needed so you will remain stress free. Trust your photographer, we know what we are doing. We just want to make you happy.
