Even a full day of rain couldn’t stop Chris and Rachel from throwing the most unforgettable celebration at the Birmingham Zoo. From heartfelt details to a dance floor full of retro rock and karaoke, their wedding day was nothing short of a wild adventure—in the best possible way.

Rachel stunned in a strapless lace gown with subtle sequins that shimmered with every step. Her cheetah print shoes were the perfect nod to their unique venue and playful personalities—because why not get a little wild on your wedding day? Her three bridesmaids wore soft sage green dresses and sported adorable animal charm bracelets that Rachel had custom-made for each of them. It was the sweetest touch that made her bridal party feel extra special.

Chris was flanked by five of the most enthusiastic groomsmen we’ve ever met—total hype squad energy from start to finish. Dressed in light gray suits with matching sage green ties, the guys brought big laughs, great vibes, and non-stop support for the groom.

Although the skies were gray and the rain stuck around most of the day, the moment it cleared, we snuck out for couple portraits—and it was so worth it. The overcast light made for the dreamiest, most romantic zoo backdrop, and Rachel and Chris absolutely glowed.

Their reception was one for the books. Guests enjoyed a macaroni bar during cocktail hour (hello, comfort food goals) and classic hamburgers and hot dogs once the party kicked into gear. Rachel and Chris tore up the dance floor to 70s and 80s rock anthems, with a little karaoke thrown in for good measure. You could feel how much fun they were having just being together.

This day wasn’t about perfect weather or a traditional venue—it was about love, laughter, and celebrating their story in a way that was totally them. And what better place to do that than surrounded by animals, loved ones, and a whole lot of joy?
