Why Engagement Sessions Are a Must-Have Before Your Wedding

Engagement sessions are a great way to get familiar with your photographer and make sure everyone clicks. Some couples love this and some prefer to just wait until the wedding day.

If you are anxious or nervous about being in front of the camera you should probably decide to go ahead and schedule the engagement session. During the engagement session express to your photographer how you feel in front of a camera. Are you awkward? Nervous? Stiff? Comfortable? Your photographer will know how to help you relax and pose naturally. This is a great opportunity for you to get to know the photographer and vise versa.

Another great reason for you to go ahead and schedule to session is wedding day prep. You and your photographer and talk what your wants are for the wedding. You can also discuss the timeline with the photographer. They will be able to tell you exactly how long they will need to photograph each part of your wedding. (bridal party, first looks, family portraits, etc.) Make sure you let your photographer know if you want photos before or after the ceremony and if your having a first look.

Lastly, an engagement session can give you an idea on how your wedding pictures will turn out. Make sure you like their style. Has their style changed since you last talked to them? Are they doing something different?

Communication is key with your photographer. We are not mind readers, even though we try sometimes. Haha. We love our job and want you to be as comfortable and stress-free as possible. Because of all of the reasons you just read above, ALL of my packages come with a complimentary engagement session. So go ahead and book that engagement session!
